2024 Long Beach Race for Rare 5K Walk/Run

The National MPS Society will host a timed 5K run and walk event, beginning at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 12 at the Granada Launch Ramp in Long Beach, CA. The walk event will begin at 9:15 AM. Packet pickup and day of registration will begin at 7:30 AM the same morning.

The family day will include face painting, photo booth, beach games, sand toys and more!

What exactly IS a Virtual 5K?

It is just like any other 5K, except there is no official race location. You get to choose where, with whom, and even how you want to complete the 5K. By participating virtually, you can run the 5K at any time leading up to October 12th. It can even be done in increments, keep track of your distance until you hit the 5K.

How to participate to raise funds and awareness.

This event is open to individuals of all ages and abilities. Once you register, either as an individual or as part of a team, you are set. We would love to see your photos on race day, along the 5K route. This is completely optional - but since our goal is to bring awareness to MPS and ML, we want to do just that. Use #MPSAwareness and tag us in your social media posts, to help us keep up with the fun.

Early Registration Fees:

1 Mile Family Walk: $25
5K Family/Team of Four: $125

5K Family/Team of Four: $140

In-Person Runners: Shirts guaranteed for first 150 registrants, and will be available until we run out!

Virtual Runners: Register before September 15th to receive a shirt!

Family/Teams - Register by September 15th in order to get your Team name on the shirt
